Our clients safety when participating in any of our activities is of paramount importance. All activities have safety equipment & rescue cover provided where necessary as well as supervision, instruction and guidance where applicable. All activities are operated by seasoned professionals, whether our own staff or those of our colleagues whose services we employ. In particular sailing and windsurfing are operated under governance by RYA teaching establishments and scuba diving under governance by a PADI recognised diving school.
Sailing & windsurfing – buoyancy aids & sailing trapeze harnesses are provided. Wetsuits, wet shoes/boots, gloves and other clothing are not provided. We have a number of wetsuits to hire locally and personal sailing gear such as wetshoes, gloves, windcheaters etc to buy. Beginners and novices do not usually require wet clothing; old T shirts, sweatshirts, swimwear and old trainers (even bare feet!) you don’t mind getting wet are ideal. More advanced sailors usually bring their own gear – a shortie wetsuit is generally fine for most of our season.
Scuba Diving – all equipment including wetsuit, mask, flippers, air tank, regulator, buoyancy vest & weight belt are included. All dives are guided and buddied. Clients with diving experience may wish to bring some of their own gear (no reduction in price is made in this event). Those with PADI Open Water (or equivalent) or above qualification should bring their log book.
Kayaking – a buoyancy aid and mask & snorkel is included. All trips are guided. Wear light & loose comfortable clothing e.g. T shirt & shorts and bring swimwear.
Sea Safari - a buoyancy aid and mask & snorkel is included. All trips are guided. On the RIB rides wind chill may be felt on the sunniest of days. So along with your swimwear maybe take along a sweater or windcheater.
Mountain Biking – mountain bikes and helmets are provided. We provide some guided rides. Bring suitable footwear such as trainers (not flip flops!). Less challenging rides only require casual clothing; shorts, T shirts etc. For serious mountain bikers wanting more challenging rides including off-road, you may want to bring your own gear including SPD shoes and pedals, camelback, gloves & knee pads – lycra optional!
Essential item - high factor waterproof suncream!
For operational reasons on the Active Adventures programme we cannot advise in advance which day of the week each activity will take place on. The activity schedule will be advised in resort. It will also be subject to weather conditions so may have to be amended during your stay.

If any activity has to be cancelled e.g. due to adverse weather etc, we will do our best to rearrange the schedule and fit it in. However in extreme cases where it is not feasible to do so, we will offer an alternative activity.
No refunds will be made for pre-booked activities, which were available but the client did not participate in.
A minimum of 4 days activities per week must be booked on any tailored holiday. For tailor made activity weeks, once the client has arrived in resort, amendments to the activity programme may be possible subject to payments of any additional costs locally and that the number of activities is not reduced from that pre-booked.
As these are active holidays, certain of them require some degree of fitness & stamina – the various descriptions in our brochure will guide you on this. As many are water based the ability to swim and being water confident are ideal both for safety purposes and to get the most enjoyment from them. For non-swimmers and those less confident in the water, we will accept bookings but please advise us so we can make any necessary provisions.
Insurance It is essential and a condition of booking that all participants have adequate travel insurance that includes cover for all the various activities we offer. This should include cover for injury to yourself when doing the activities and third party liability in case of injury to others. Third party liability in terms of damage to our marine and other equipment is not required and in any case will rarely be included on general travel policies. |
